FRINGE BENEFITS FOR FULL TIME EMPLOYEES
Full Time = working a minimum of 30 hours per week
(does not apply to seasonal, temporary employees such as college students or professionals hired for summer only)
Health, Dental and Vision Insurance is effective the first day of permanent full time employment. Employee contribution to Health Insurance premium is 35% of the monthly premium: approx. $160 per month for individual coverage and approx. $500 for family coverage per month depending on type of coverage and covered family members. The employee contribution to Dental Insurance is 50% of the monthly premium. Vision coverage is also available to full time employees. It is a voluntary insurance and employees pay 100% of the premium.
ECDC Tuition Discount – Children ages 2 through 6 during the 9-month school year and 2.5 – 10 during the summer program may attend ECDC when an enrollment opening occurs. The tuition for an ECDC staff member is 10% of the ECDC tuition when an enrollment opening occurs. Employees’ children are placed at the top of the waiting list. (benefit for full and part time employees)
Retirement Plan – ECDC will contribute an amount equal to 3% of your salary directly into a retirement account with TIAA-CREF after two years of full time employment
Paid Time Off – Five paid personal days and seven paid sick days per year. One week paid vacation after completing one year of work, after two years, two weeks of paid vacation, after five years, three weeks of paid vacation.
Paid Holidays – Thanksgiving Wed, Thurs & Fri, Martin Luther King Jr Day, Good Friday, Easter Monday, Memorial Day, and the 4th of July. ECDC is closed for two weeks for the Christmas/Winter Holiday; employees are paid for these two weeks.
Paid Bereavement Time
Professional Development Benefit – up to $300/year towards an early childhood college course or college course in a related field (child development, family studies). Other professional development opportunities including conferences, seminars and workshops. All ECDC teachers participate in a minimum of 20 hours of professional development each year (paid for by ECDC and benefit for full and part time employees).

GENERAL INFORMATION
- Payroll is distributed bi-weekly.
- ECDC is open on Labor Day due to classes in session at the University of Notre Dame and Saint Mary’s College. All ECDC staff members work on Labor Day.
- Orientation and training is provided for all new teachers and program staff. ECDC pays for required criminal history check, drug screen, physical, TB test, and other pre-employment requirements.
